Important Note:

Only persons competent by virtue of their training or experience should be allowed to 
install, maintain and repair Rotork actuators. Work undertaken must be carried out in 
accordance with published manuals. The user and those working on Rotork actuators 
should be familiar with their responsibilities under any statutory provisions relating 
to Health and Safety in their workplace. In this context it is the responsibility of 
users to limit and control the use of IQ Insight software on site. If required, 
communication between actuators and the software can be disabled and password protected.

General Information:

IQ Insight allows a user to interrogate and configure an IQ mk2, IQT mk2, IQ Pro or IQT Pro actuator 
using a PC IrDA serial interface (Infrared Data Association) via a USB-IR header (supplied with the 
Rotork IQ Insight Kit or purchased separately from a third party).

Information regarding the commissioning and configuration of the actuator can be recorded for complete 
site records. IQ Insight provides access to the on-board datalogger to show historical incident data 
plus operational data for informed maintenance scheduling.

Updates to IQ Insight are available from the Rotork website at www.rotork.com. 
Rotork recommend that users access the Rotork website to get the latest publications, 
actuator wiring diagrams and contact information.

It is recommended that when communicating with an actuator, IQ Insight is run in isolation.  
Running multiple applications alongside IQ Insight may cause communication interruptions. 
IQ Insight performance will be subject to PC specification.





Installing the IrDA header:

WARNING: DO NOT PLUG IN THE IRDA HEADER UNTIL READING THE SUPPORT DOCUMENT FOR YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM 
Actisys Windows 7 or Actisys Windows 10 

Failure to follow the installation instructions carefully will result in non-communication.




Deleting old versions of IQ Insight:

Before attempting to install a new version of IQ Insight, ensure any existing versions are 
deleted:
Start, Control panel, Add/Remove (or uninstall) Programs.
From list select IQ Insight.  Select Add/Remove.  Follow on-screen instructions.  
It is also recommended that any shared files are deleted.




Installing IQ Insight:

Double click setup.exe from the IQ Insight download folder. Follow the on screen prompts to complete 
installation of the program. The install location can be changed if necessary.




Running IQ Insight:

Click - Start, Programs, Rotork, IQ Insight.

IQ insight Main Menu page will open.  Select User Log-in to begin and refer to Insight help for further 
information.
