General

The IQ memory is EEPROM (Electrically Erasable and Programmable Read Only Memory). This type of memory is "non-volatile", requiring no power to store data.
Configured settings loaded into the IQ EEPROM are therefore safe under all conditions of power supply.
The EEPROM data content can be saved to file and reloaded if necessary. Due to the nature of the stored data, Rotork may only do analysis.

EEPROM Page Controls

Get Data
Copies IQ EEPROM data of the connected actuator to the EEPROM page:

Click the Get Data control. The complete EEPROM data is loaded into the page. Progress is indicated in the Status box.

Save
After copying EEPROM data into the page, refer to Get Data, it can be saved to a file in the computer:

Click the Select File control in the status group. In the Specify/select EEPROM File dialogue, enter filename and select the required folder. Click Open.
Click on Save to copy complete EEPROM data to the selected file. The Status box will report file download progress.

EEPROM files are given the extension .edf

Load
After saving IQ EEPROM data to a file, it can be loaded into the page:

Click the Select File control in the status group. In the Specify/select EEPROM File dialogue, select the required folder and filename. Click Open.
Click on Load to copy the selected EEPROM file into the page. The Status box will report file progress.

Compare
A copy of the EEPROM data loaded into the page can be compared with a previously saved file. This allows discrepancies in IQ configuration to be interpreted:

Click the Get Data control. The complete EEPROM data of the connected IQ is loaded into the page. Progress is indicated in the Status box.

Click the Select File control in the status group. In the Specify/select EEPROM File dialogue, select the required folder and filename. Click Open.
Click on Load to copy the selected EEPROM file into the page. The Status box will report file progress.

Click the Compare control. A report will be generated with any discrepancies in two files highlighted. A report can be printed to the Windows Default Printer or copied to the clipboard.

View
After EEPROM data has been copied or loaded into the page its content can be viewed. Refer to Get Data and Load. Data is in the form of code and can only be analysed by Rotork. The Data Viewer report can be printed to the Windows Default Printer or copied to the clipboard.

Send Data
After loading a previously saved file into the page it can be sent back to the connected IQ, overwriting its stored data. The file can be "split" into constituent parts and returned in total or part.
Note. Users are not able to overwrite torque calibration data or IQ codes (manufacturing data).

Once a file has been loaded into the page, refer to Load, check the required boxes in Send Options for the file content to be sent back:

Position - Current position and set stroke (open close limit positions).
Configuration - Current IQ set up. For list refer to Insight Configuration.
Customer - User Notes (refer to Configuration - Service Notes)
Defaults - Default IQ set up. For list refer to Insight Configuration.
Batt. Posn. - Backup position.

Click Send Data. The selected parts of the loaded file will be sent back to the connected IQ, overwriting its stored data.
